Terms of service

Version: 14 October 2026.

These terms are a contract between you and the operator of Dynjandi (“we”, “us”) for your use of the Dynjandi image storage and transformation service, including the dashboard at app.dynjandi.dev and image delivery from cdn.dynjandi.dev (the “service”). The abuse policy and the data processing agreement are part of these terms. Operator: Baldur Páll Hólmgeirsson, Engjavegur 16, 400 Ísafjörður, Iceland, kennitala 030279-5309, hello@dynjandi.dev.

1. Who can use the service

The service is offered to businesses and professionals. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you are acting in the course of a business, trade or profession, not as a consumer. If you act for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and “you” then means that organisation.

2. Your account

You must give accurate information. If you sign up yourself, you must verify your email address before you can sign in. Keep your password and your project keys confidential. You are responsible for everything done under your account or with your keys, and you must tell us promptly if you believe either has been used without your permission.

You accept these terms when you tick the box on the sign-up form and create your account. The privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. It is a notice, not a term of this contract.

3. The service

You upload original images to a project. We store them and serve resized, cropped and re-encoded variants from URLs on cdn.dynjandi.dev. You manage projects, files and billing in the dashboard.

Delivered images are public. Anyone who has the URL of an image can fetch it. The service has no access control on delivered images, so do not upload an image that must not be publicly reachable. An original is served exactly as you uploaded it, including any metadata inside the file.

The service is for images. We may refuse or remove files that are not images.

The service is not a backup or an archive. Keep your own copy of every original you upload.

We may change the service, including adding, changing or removing features. If a change materially reduces what your plan gives you, we will give you notice as described in section 15. We do not commit to any level of availability, and we may interrupt the service for maintenance or security reasons.

4. Plans, fees and payment

Each plan sets limits on stored bytes, on new image variants rendered in a billing period and on the number of projects. The limits and prices that apply to you are those shown when you subscribe.

When you reach a limit, the service refuses new uploads or new variants. The variant limit starts again each billing period; the storage limit applies until you delete files or change plan. We may send usage notices by email, but keeping track of your usage is your responsibility.

Subscriptions are sold by Polar Software, Inc. (“Polar”), which acts as merchant of record and authorised reseller. Polar takes payment and charges applicable taxes, and Polar's buyer terms apply to the purchase. These terms govern your use of the service.

A subscription renews automatically for successive billing periods until it is cancelled. You can cancel at any time in the customer portal that the dashboard links to. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and the subscription stays active until then. Fees for a billing period that has started are not refunded, except where the law requires it.

We may change prices or plan limits for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.

When a subscription has ended, the service refuses new uploads and new variants. If a payment fails, we may suspend your account as section 9 describes. After the contract ends we may stop serving your images and delete your content as described in section 10.

5. Beta programme

The service is in beta. Until we tell you that the beta has ended, this section applies, and it takes priority over the rest of these terms where they differ.

6. Your content

You keep all rights in the images and other material you upload (“your content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transform, cache, transmit and display your content, and to let our infrastructure providers do so on our behalf, solely to provide the service to you. The licence ends when your content is deleted from the service, except for cached copies that expire on their own schedule.

You confirm that you have every right and permission needed to upload your content and to have it served to the public, including permission from the people shown in it where the law requires that, and that your content and your use of the service comply with the law and with the abuse policy.

If your content contains personal data, you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf, under the data processing agreement.

We do not review content before it is stored, and we have no obligation to monitor it. We may review, remove or disable access to content when we receive a report or otherwise learn of a problem, as the abuse policy describes.

7. Acceptable use

You must not, and must not let anyone else:

8. Our rights in the service

We and our licensors own the service, its software and documentation, and the Dynjandi name. For the duration of your subscription we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms. Open-source components we publish are licensed under their own licences. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

9. Suspension

We may suspend your account, a workspace, a project or access to particular content, in whole or in part, if:

We will tell you by email what we did and why, before we act or as soon as we reasonably can afterwards, unless the law or an authority prevents it. Where the problem can be fixed, we will give you a reasonable chance to fix it first, except where the matter is serious or urgent. You can ask us to reconsider by writing to the contact address below.

10. Term and termination

This contract starts when you create your account and runs until it is terminated.

You may stop using the service at any time. Cancel your subscription in the customer portal, and write to the contact address below to have your account closed.

We may terminate this contract by notice to you if you materially breach it and do not fix the breach within 14 days of our notice; immediately, if the breach is serious, for example illegal content or a threat to security, or on a third breach of the abuse policy; or for any reason with 30 days' notice, in which case we will arrange a refund of fees paid in advance for the unused period.

When this contract ends, your right to use the service ends. You are responsible for retrieving your originals before then. For 30 days after the end of the contract we will not delete your originals unless we are required to or they breach the abuse policy; after that we may delete your content and your account data, subject to the retention periods in the privacy policy. If you ask us to, we delete it sooner.

Sections 5, 6, 11 to 14, 16 and 17, and anything else that by its nature should outlast the contract, continue to apply after it ends.

11. Warranties and disclaimer

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, of uninterrupted or error-free operation, and that content will not be lost.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law.

Subject to that:

13. Indemnity

You will defend us against any claim by a third party, and pay the damages, fines and reasonable costs that result, to the extent the claim arises from your content or from your breach of these terms or of the law. We will tell you promptly about any such claim, let you conduct the defence, and give you reasonable help at your expense.

14. Data protection

The privacy policy describes how we handle personal data for which we are the controller, such as your account and billing data. For personal data in your content we act as your processor, under the data processing agreement.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its date. For a material change we will also email the address on your account at least 30 days before the change takes effect, unless the law or a security need requires it sooner. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it takes effect; using the service after that date means you accept it. Earlier versions are available on request.

16. General

We send notices to the email address on your account or show them in the dashboard. You send notices to the contact address below. You may not transfer this contract without our written consent; we may transfer it to an affiliate or to a successor to the business. Neither party is liable for a failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force, and a failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, the abuse policy and the data processing agreement are the whole agreement between us about the service. These terms are written in English, and the English text prevails over any translation.

17. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the law of Iceland. Disputes are to be brought before the District Court of Reykjavík (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur). If you are a consumer despite section 1, this does not take away the protection of mandatory law in the country where you live.
